Frequently Asked Questions about Holidays for Solo travellers to South Africa

What is the best guided holiday to South Africa for a single traveller?

Just You's Experience South Africa tour will take you on a journey from the South West to the North East of this epic country - ticking all the boxes on the way.  With cities and National Parks on the way, this truly is the trip of a lifetime.

What are the highlights of a guided holiday in South Africa for single travellers?

South Africa has it all - the wildlife and the landscapes, waterfalls and mountains plus cosmopolitan cities and some unique cuisine. Our highlights are

Ascending Table Mountain on a thrilling cable car ride

Travelling along the Panorama Route- the rainforest at God's Window, Bourke's Luck potholes and Blyde Canyon are just some of the highlights along this famous route.

The game drive in Kruger - home to the Big 5 - lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo.

What is the food and drink like in South Africa?

Meat is still pretty central to a meal in South Africa (although they can cater for vegetarian - it just isn't part of many of their traditional dishes)

Dry curing is still very popular as used in both Biltong (a thinly sliced, air-dried meat) and Droewors (an air-dried sausage).

Boerewors is a famous traditional South Africa sausage - made from beef often mixed with pork and various spices and coiled in a similar style to the Cumberland sausage.

On the Experience South Africa tour, if the weather is fair, you will enjoy one of South Africa's oldest traditions for dinner - the Boma (literally the gathering place where guests meet for candlelit dinners in an open air atmosphere) for a famous African barbeque meal.

And as for drink - South African wines enjoy world wide popularity these days and rightly so!

What's the weather like in South Africa?

South Africa experiences a high degree of sunshine - with the overall climate ranging from desert and semi-desert in the northwest to subtropical on the eastern coast.

What should I pack for a solo guided tour to South Africa?

We recommend you bring walking boots or comfortable shoes to enable you to enjoy your destination to its fullest.

If there was ever a time to bring binoculars on a trip, it’s now! Who knows what animal might be around the corner!!

We would also recommend you bring lightweight clothing and something warm for the evenings - as it can be cold in some parts of the country. Its always good to have layers for these occasions.
